<ZeldaLucario> Icystar saw no faces. He sighed. Why are the medicine cats NEVER here when you need them? He heard a voice, and turned around. He saw Slatepelt and bounded over to him. He let out a fumbled cough at the same time, effectively coughing on Slatepelt. "Sorry," he mumbled, sheepish. "Anyway, yes?" he meowed feebly, trying to not let his voice croak, but alas, failing. He cleared his throat and repeated himself with more volume. "Yes?" He twitched an ear when he noticed a slight glimmer of tension in his deputy's eyes, and suddnely, he became a lot more curious as to what his deputy might have to say.
<Wakaz> Slatepelt swallowed and disregarded the cough, focusing on matters on paw. He stood, maybe a muzzle length taller than Icystar, and spoke quietly "Come with me. It's... important." He turned and walked into the leader's den, his tail swishing behind him. After getting far into the den, in the most sound muffling part, and sat turning cautious eyes to watch Icystar, seeing his curiosity. After settling he didn't wait for Icystar to speak. "Icystar I have something very important to say." he spoke, stressing its importance.
<ZeldaLucario> Icystar tilted his head slightly as Slatepelt walked inside his den. It must be something really important if he feels he needs the privacy of my den. He padded lightly into his den as Slatepelt started to speak. At his words, nervous butterflies flew around in Icystar's stomach. What could he possibly have to tell me? He sat down, confused. "O-okay." He meowed, confusion plain in his voice. He swallowed. Oh no, he can't be preparing to tell me that he hates me or something, right...?
<wakaz> Slatepelt shifted and sighed thinking of what he would say carefully. "Icystar..." he started, "I...I have a mate now." He hoped this would break the ice. He shifted again, "And... knowing that you have a mate you know what it feels like. Like you want to to anything for her. ....Well that's how I feel." he meowed. He paused unsure of what to say and shifted uncomfortably again, twitching his ears and curling his tail around himself. I... ok calm down... Why is this so hard to say! he mental yelled and scolded himself, sighing.
<ZeldaLucario> Icystar blinked rapidly, trying to take in what he had just heard. A mate? What? Slatepelt? Really? I didn't think he had it in him, honestly. He smiled broadly. "That's great Slatepelt! Glad to know I'm not the only one anymore," he finished by murmuring. Who could it be? He flicked his gaze back to Slatepelt. "So? Who is it? Who's the lucky girl?~" he meowed joyously, purring for his friend. He was about to get up and start running around Slatepelt, but stopped when he saw the look in his deputy's eyes. Icystar stopped and sat down. "A-are you okay...?"
<Wakaz> Slatepelt sighed and collected himself, "I'm great Icystar, I have a mate. But... You won't like who it is." he began throwing all hope of going back to the wind. "Just know she loves me too." he added, nervously, "It... it's Sandstar.... I... i'm sorry but it's true." he meowed. He waited for Icystar to react and thought of how he was going to tell him he wanted to go be with her. He looked at Icystar in the eyes and pleaded with him.
<ZeldaLucario> Icystar hopped with giddy, girly enthusiasm. His smile froze and he stopped moving. "S..." he started. He looked back up at Slatepelt, nervousness all over his expression. "Sand...star?" He let his gaze drift to the ground. He stared at it for a while before blinking, un-furrowing his brow, and looking back up. Sadness plagued his eyes. "I... I suppose the reason you're telling me is because..." ...you want to go be with her. He didn't even need to say the words; he knew he must be accurate. Icystar looked at his deputy sadly. He sighed and gave a pained smile. "Pinkstar..." he mumbled to himself. His gaze floated away, and he stared into nothing for a while.
<Wakaz> Slatepelt frowned "Icystar, yes it's true, I wish to join Rushingclan for Sandstar. And who is Pinkstar?" he asked sadly. He flattened his ears and felt his eyes sting with unshed tears but blinked them away. "Icystar.... i'm so sorry but...." he trailed off, finding his paws of much interest at the moment. Why do I feel so guilty? Well... I am betraying my clan... he thought somberly. Sighing he looked back at Icystar, sadness growing in his heart.
<ZeldaLucario> Icystar smiled sadly. "Something me and Swiftdrop..." he trailed off, murmuring quietly. "I'm not going to hassle you Slatepelt," he conceded. His gaze snapped back up. Replacing the sadness was a kind of happiness. "I know what it's like, to be in love. I understand." He bowed his head, so low his nose almost brushed the ground. "Just... just promise me one thing," he meowed, bringing his head back up and fixing his gaze on Slatepelt. "Promise me... that you know you won't regret your choice." His gaze clouded slightly as his memories overtook him.
